HotSpot Printing

We’re pleased to announce that HotSpot for MFP is now available to order. Like Ricoh’s range of mono and colour printers, printing on the move now becomes easier with the availability of HotSpot printing for MFP.

The following MFP products are now available as HotSpot enabled MFPs:
MP C300 / MP C400 & MP C300SR / MP C400SR
MP C3001 / MP C3501 & MP C3001AD / MP C3501AD
MP C4501 / MP C5501 & MP C4501AD / MP C5501AD

What you need to order
Just like the range of HotSpot enabled printers we offer, to order a HotSpot enabled MFP a number of items must be ordered together with the device. The example below demonstrates what is mandatory and what is optional:

EDP Code Item Description Mandatory/Optional
xxxxxx MP CXXXX MFP Mandatory
414716 Browser Unit Mandatory
973172 HotSport Pack English Mandatory
967200 HotSpot License 1 yr Mandatory
971212 HotSpot License 2 yr Extension Optional
971213 HotSpot License 3 yr Extension Optional
971214 HotSpot License 4 yr Extension Optional

Like any other MFP, the HotSpot MFPs can be configured with the full range of options offered that enables them to be used as office MFPs next to their HotSpot printing functionality.

The example above demonstrates the mandatory items needed to configure a HotSpot MFP. The new price-book to be published by the pricing team will include a chapter for HotSpot enabled devices, providing a neat overview of models supported.

Pricing
As all components required to equip MFPs with HotSpot are existing components used with HotSpot colour printers, pricing will remain the same for these items.

HotSpot & Solutions
HotSpot has been designed to be a standalone printing solution for users who are on the move, offering revenue generation streams for HotSpot printing providers. As such, the current version of HotSpot does not support print management solutions such as Equitrac and it should not be deployed in conjunction with such solutions.

Retro-installing HotSpot on installed devices
Unfortunately, it’s not yet possible to upgrade MFPs that have already been deployed into the field – we anticipate that an upgrade kit that will allow retro-upgrade of MFPs to HotSpot enabled MFPs will be available later in this fiscal year.
